Anna Rice
Anna Rice is an Irish screen composer, lyricist and producer.
Over the past sixteen years she has produced her scores, songs and arrangements for a host of elite performers including Lang Lang, Gidon Kremer, Ronnie Wood (The Rolling Stones), Andrea Corr, Avishai Cohen, Donal Lunny, The Chieftains, Moxie, Cara Dillon, Joseph, Jam Hsiao and Coco Lee. She has written for numerous orchestras worldwide, including the Hollywood Studio Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Kremerata Baltica, the Hallé, the Ulster Orchestra, the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, the Irish Film Orchestra, and the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 2005 she has worked closely with Shigeru Umebayashi as lyricist, arranger & orchestrator and co-producer.
Anna's work can be heard in scores and songs onscreen worldwide, including the theme song to CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON: SWORD OF DESTINY (Weinstein/Netflix), CHIMERICA (Channel 4 / Playground Entertainment), Ian Hislop's AGE OF THE DO-GOODERS (BBC / Wingspan Productions),Gordon Chan's GOD OF WAR and the E3 Trailer for Sony Playstation's GHOST OF TSUSHIMA. She composed the score for the Abbey Theatre and National Theatre (UK)'s inaugural collaborative production of JUNO AND THE PAYCOCK, starring Ciarán Hinds and Sinéad Cusack. Her original score for debut feature ANTON was nominated for an IFTA in 2008.
Anna has scored over two hundred episodes of TV animation, most recently LUCKY FRED:Season 2 (Imira / Telegael / Toonz) and CAPTAIN FLINN AND THE PIRATE DINOSAURS (SLR Australia / Telegael) and she wrote the theme songs to MONDO YAN (Imira/Toonz) and ZOMBIE HOTEL (BBC / Alphanim). She composes frequently for Universal Production Music.
She has served as a panel judge for the BAFTA TV Awards, Ivor Novello Awards and the Irish Film & Television Awards and on the board of directors of the Screen Composers Guild of Ireland.
