James Everett is a composer, musician, producer and mix engineer. He started out writing and producing in the EDM scene in 2001. He worked with a number of DJs and producers writing and remixing artists like P!nk, Flo-Rida, Samantha Mumba and many others.

In 2011 he left the EDM scene, to pursue his passion for film music. After a few years of scoring short films and ads, in 2016 James was commissioned to compose the music for Chris Baughs’ “Bad Day For The Cut”. This was a huge hit for Irish film. It was selected as a ‘Top Pick’ for the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. He then went to work on his next feature, “The Dig” by Ryan and Andy Tohill, which was selected for the 2019 “Toronto Film Festival”. He has also scored 4 of RTÉs “Storyland” films and a number of award winning short films and documentaries.

In 2020 James composed the music for Colum Eastwoods “Black Medicine” where the score gathered much attention from film critics. Described as ‘Emotional but also tense and never once distracting from the action on screen’.

James writes in a wide range of styles. Incorporating much of what he learnt in his EDM days and infusing that into his orchastral/hybrid scores. His scores can go from ‘archaic high tension edge-of-your-seat passages’ to ‘haunting memorable, melodic piano melodies.’
