Stephen O’Brien
Stephen is a multi-instrumentalist who started his music career a member of the band Hal. Whose debut album was released by Rough Trade Records to critical and commercial acclaim, charting in the Irish Top 10 and the UK Top 30. Featuring on UK programmes such as Match of the Day, East Enders, and Homes under the hammer.
He now runs Jangle Studios and has composed music for animation series including, RTE/Magpie 6 (Inis Spraoi/Rockabye Island – 25 x 11min), Disney Jnr (25 x 2min pre-school animations) and Monster Entertainment (‘I’m a Fish’ 52 x 2min). Along with writing and arranging with his own Band Hal, he has worked on albums such as Fionn Reganʼs ‘The Shadow of an Empire’ and Cathy Davey’s ‘New Forest’. He is also an educator, teaching modules on Composition for media, Sound Design and Music Production.
