Anna Mullarkey

Anna is a multi award-winning composer and performer whose music weaves electronic and acoustic instrumentation. Her debut solo album Falling (Strange Brew, 2022) earned critical acclaim and national airplay, with The Irish Times praising its “futuristic pulse” and Hotpress calling it “a hugely cinematic experience, combining Irish traditional elements with modern production” (Hotpress, 2022).

Her film and documentary scores include Horseshoe (Screen Ireland, 2024), winner of Best Irish First Feature at the Galway Film Fleadh, Wrapped (RTÉ Storyland, 2023), and the award-winning The Passion (2021), which earned Best Original Score at the Kerry Film Festival.

In theatre, Anna’s music for the Abbey Theatre’s Safehouse, a collaboration with Enda Walsh, was hailed as “a thrilling mash-up of music and theatre” (Hotpress, 2024) and earned a five-star review from The Guardian. Named one of the “Faces of 2025” by The Irish Independent, she continues to explore the intersection of classical, folk, and electronica in her work.

Anna is passionate about storytelling through sound and loves the collaborative process that each film and theatre project brings. She is currently working on the “Playboy of the Western World” with the National Theatre of Britain.
