
David Holmes
David Holmes, a Belfast-born DJ and producer, has built a remarkable career, composing and producing over 30 critically acclaimed film soundtracks. His collaboration with director Steven Soderbergh began with Out of Sight (1998) and Ocean’s 11 (2001), continuing through its sequels and films such as The Girlfriend Experience (2009), Logan Lucky (2017), and No Sudden Move (2020). Holmes co-composed the score for Steve McQueen’s Hunger (2008) alongside Leo Abrahams, earning the IFTA Award for Best Score. David’s film company Canderblinks have released two features to critical acclaim; ‘Good Vibrations’ (2013) and ‘Ordinary Love’ (2019) which starred Liam Neeson and Lesley Manville both directed by close collaborators Glenn Leyburn and Lisa Barros D’Safor and for which David provided the score.
His work on ’71 (2014) garnered an Ivor Novello Award and widespread acclaim. Scoring BBC series such as The Fall and London Spy further solidified his reputation, earning him an RTS Craft & Design Award and another Ivor Novello Award respectively. Recent scores (to name a few) include: The Woman In The Wall (2024), the Irish TV series KIN (2021), Netflix’s The Laundromat (2019) and Robbing Mussolini (2022), feature films Shoshana (2023) and The Apprentice (2024), Michael Winterbottom’s This England (2022), Documentary Lyra (2023) and the critically acclaimed In the Shadow of Beirut (2023). Additionally, Holmes contributed to all four seasons of Killing Eve, with Season 2 winning a BAFTA for Best Original Music.
