Edward O’Mahony

Edward O’Mahony is a Composer and music producer from and based in Dublin, Ireland. Having learnt classical piano and guitar from a young age, Edward started his career in bands in Dublin. Most notably being the frontman of Jooce, a psych rock band that toured extensively around Ireland. Releasing 4 singles and disbanding in 2019.

Since then Edward has worked as a songwriter and producer for different musicians. Working with artists like Leah Rose, Orla Monelle and Tiernan. He has also been developing his own Alternative-Pop solo project under the moniker methodactor, releasing the song Bikes in 2023 and an EP coming out in the first half of 2025.

In recent years, Edward has worked as a composer on a number of films. Collaborating with director Conor McCormick on the films Wild Hunger (2021) and most recently Bunker Baby (2024) the latter of which premiered at the 2024 Galway Film Fleadh. He has also collaborated with director Alba Fernandez on four short f ilms most notably the moving LGBTQ dramas Oisín (2022) and I Haven’t Seen You in a Long Time, Now (2022) the latter of which also premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh. He has collaborated with multiple directors as composer on the Virgin Media short Documentary L.I.F.E (2023) and the short film After The Bell Rings (2023).

Edward is very passionate and serious about his work in music and film but is easygoing and loves to work with other people.
