Eoin O’Callaghan
Northern Irish composer/producer Eoin O'Callaghan is as much an architect as he is an artist. A true world builder, he effortlessly blends the realms of electronica, acoustic & classical, always experimenting and combining analogue instruments with unique methods of recording and composition.
As well as a touring artist under the name Elma Orkestra, Eoin is a composer for film and TV. Eoin's ongoing soundtrack work includes the critically acclaimed BBC series 'Blue Lights'. Created and written by Declan Lawn and Adam Patterson, Blue Lights follows three rookie police officers working in Belfast, a uniquely dangerous place to be a police officer and stars Siân Brooke (Sherlock, Good Omens), Martin McCann (Marcella, Sentinel), Richard Dormer (Game of Thrones, Fortitude). Eoin is currently working on Series 3, due to be released in 2025.
Eoin is also currently working on a 6 part series called Art Detectives. Art Detectives, a Black Dog Television production co-produced and distributed by Dynamic Television, is a compelling new original crime series centered around the Heritage Crime Unit, a police department consisting of art loving DI Mick Palmer (Stephen Moyer – True Blood) and straight-talking DC Shazia Malik (Nina Singh – Chemistry of Death, The Lazarus Project).
Eoin’s previous TV documentary work includes providing the scores for Quinn Country (RTE) and Chinook: Zulu Delta 576 (BBC).
His album 'Borders', an audio/visual collaboration with Ryan Vail, was awarded the Northern Irish Music Prize for Best Album. The album's retelling of a world without Borders has resonated in their native Ireland and beyond.
As well as composing and producing his own work, he has written and produced music alongside Moya Brennan, Ryan McMullan, Guillem Balague, Stephen James Smith and Mar Lara.
