Henning Fuchs
Henning Fuchs is a composer who blends musical styles and cultural influences with a distinctive creative touch. His work explores the connections between different musical traditions, creating soundscapes that are both innovative and deeply engaging.
His album "COCOON" (2024) showcases this approach, featuring collaborations with Irish artists like singer Lisa Lambe, harpist Aisling Ennis, and the Castle String Quartet. Recorded at Grouse Lodge Studios, the album reflects Fuchs' ability to bring together diverse musical voices.
Previous albums like "GAIA" (2020) and "A NEW BEGINNING" (2019) have similarly highlighted his global musical perspective, featuring artists from Bulgarian Voices Berlin to Chinese erhu player Guo Gan, Flamenco Guitarist Julian Olivares and Hand Pan masters like Manu Delago and David Kuckhermann.
Musically trained at Sir Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and the Film University Potsdam-Babelsberg, Fuchs has taken live master classes with renowned composers like Patrick Doyle and Helmut Lachenmann. He spent several years in Berlin and Oxfordshire assisting Max Richter, working on productions at prestigious venues including the Royal Opera House.
His compositions have been performed by orchestras in Russia and recognized internationally, including a "Composer of the Year" nomination by Opus Klassik in 2020. After living in Germany, Greece, and England, Fuchs has now made Ireland his home, continuing to create music that defies simple categorization.
