John Gerard Walsh
John Gerard Walsh is an award winning Irish Composer.
In his formative days, he studied classical guitar and music theory at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and Trinity College London in between touring with rock bands and scoring projects for up and coming film directors.
Since then he has composed scores and contributed songs to the television series “Proof”, “Rebellion 1798”, “Custer’s Last Stand Up” (BBC), “Harley & The Davidsons” (Discovery Channel) and the feature films ‘Cherry Tree’ and “The Drummer and The keeper” for which he was nominated for an 2018 IFTA Award.
His television theme credits include Prime Time for RTE Television and the Six Nations for Virgin Media Television.
John’s music has also featured in a number of major international advertising campaigns for clients such as Guinness, Heineken, Tourism Ireland, The Empire Movie Awards, the launch of Eir, The Olympic Games and currently in Jameson Irish Whiskey’s global advertising roll out. His work in this field has earned him two ICAD Awards and two Kinsale Shark Awards.
John is also the songwriter and founder member of the critically acclaimed local band - The Carnival Brothers.
