Sarah Sherlock
Sarah is a composer, sound designer and multi-instrumentalist from Dublin, Ireland.
Sarah’s diverse experience in different areas of music, sound and audio production in general has informed her ability to work within many different disciplines of film and games. She is a full time game audio professional, currently designing and implementing audio for the highly anticipated sci fi shooter ‘Luna Abyss’ previous credits include In addition to working in games, she often works in film as both sound designer and composer, specialising in scores which blurs the lines between sound design and music.
In 2022 she composed the score and designed sound for the short thriller shot during the covid pandemic entitled ‘ MASK’ which has been selected for multiple film festivals across Ireland, the UK and internationally throughout 2022/2023. Including Irish Film London Festival, Chicago Irish Film Festival and many more. At Focus Wales it won the award for ‘Best Narrative’ and at Oxford Shorts received 4 nominations, wining the award for ‘Best Director’
Alongside ‘MASK’, she also composed the score for the short drama ‘Wishing…’ which has just been released to the festival circuit. Both films were selected for the Underground Film Festival, Irish Film and Music Festival in Dublin in October 2023.
Sarah attended Pulse College Music Production for games in 2014, and holds a BA (hons) in Music Production 2017 from Windmill Lane Recording Studios in Dublin. During her time in university, she won an international sound art competition at the WhatIf? International Participatory Arts contest, and she produced a dissertation entitled ‘The Sound of Horror - An exploration into compositional techniques used by film composers of the horror genre’. In 2019 she emigrated to the UK to study a MSc in Sound and Music for Interactive Games in Leeds Beckett University, graduating in 2020. For her final year project she designed an interactive music system for her solo made horror video game. In 2022 she became a BAFTA connect member, an ambassador for women in games and she now resides back in her hometown in Dublin.
